First of all, let me share with you some details. The photo was taken in a small community theater, nestled in the heart of our town.
This theater holds countless memories for me, as it was the place where my passion for singing first took flight. At that time, there was a talent show that was held to celebrate our town's annual festival. I still recalled that it happened during Da Lat's annual flower festival, which was a major event of the whole region. It was a sunny afternoon, and I remember the nerves building up within me as I prepared to sing in front of a live audience for the first time. The stage lights illuminated my face as I took a deep breath and let the melody flow from my heart. This photo holds an indescribable happiness for me. Sample
(Introduction) In the summer of 2023, I took a picture for my family at the Great Wall of China, which I felt super proud of myself for. We were vacationing in China at the time, as we had a few days break. It was a warm sunny day: The sky was clear, the sun was bright and shining gloriously, which was excellent photography conditions, so we decided to take a trip to the Great Wall to capture the immensity of this World Wonder, which, as we heard, can be seen from spaceship outside the Earth.
(Story) When we arrived, to our disappointment, the place had already been crowded with tourists from far and wide. There were so many places that we could hardly find a space to pose and shoot a few photos of only ourselves and the structure. My initiative was to head to a section further at the top, because I thought the extended walk/trek would be too daunting for most people. And indeed it was. There were also challenging stairs because they were not only steep but also of irregular shapes, with some steps even just lumps of stones. We really had to watch our feet so that we wouldn’t stumble. And if it wasn’t enough, we had to go up to find our favorite spot.
(Opinion) When we were finally there at the top, all the tiredness we felt earlier just went away, as we were rewarded with this million-dollar view of the almost entire Great Wall winding gently through the landscape in the frame. We took this picture, of course. Overall, I take pride in the photograph because I had overcome the physical exertion to make it happen.

Speaking Part 3 Sample
The importance of photos
People like to document important occasions/events with photographs because these visual materials help them freeze the moments. Also, photos are richly-detailed, with the subjects clearly visible in them. In this way, it is easier to imagine the events and relive them vicariously through the photos, like we always do with those I took of the Great Wall of China to admire how imposing it is as a Fortress.

2. What can people learn from historical photographs?
People can be taught to appreciate peace from historical pictures. This is when they view graphic photos of wars and destruction. I mean, seeing soldiers hit with bullets, with their bodies impaled and gushing blood, in the past could warn modern-day people against extreme/radical reactions, like supporting their countries going to wars with others.
| appreciate peace | /əˈpriːʃieɪt piːs/ | phrase | biết trân trọng hòa bình |
| graphic | /ˈɡræfɪk/ | adj | chân thực và trực diện đến mức gây ám ảnh; thường dùng cho hình ảnh bạo lực, chiến tranh |
| destruction | /dɪˈstrʌkʃən/ | n | sự phá hủy, tàn phá |
| modern-day | /ˌmɒdən ˈdeɪ/ | adj | thuộc thời hiện đại, ngày nay |
| radical reaction | /ˈrædɪkəl riˈækʃən/ | nphr | phản ứng cực đoan, quyết liệt |
| warn somebody against something | /wɔːn ˈsʌmbədi əˈɡenst ˈsʌmθɪŋ/ | phrase | cảnh báo, khuyên ai tránh làm hoặc ủng hộ điều gì đó |
3. Which is better, taking photos or keeping a diary?
I would argue that taking photos appeals to those wanting a quick record of the events, whereas keeping diaries works better to emotionally connect to them. The reason is that with the former, people just need to hit a button, but with the latter, they have to engage all of their senses, being as descriptive as possible. My grandpa loves writing in his diary more, because he likes the words to paint a vivid picture in his mind about the experiences.
Taking photos
1. Is equipment important for taking photos?
I mean whether you are proficient in taking photographs or not, having the equipment is of paramount importance. Even though it can be quite cumbersome on certain occasions, it definitely facilitates the way we capture the moment.
| be proficient in something | /bi prəˈfɪʃənt ɪn ˈsʌmθɪŋ/ | phrase | thành thạo, có kỹ năng tốt về việc gì |

| cumbersome | /ˈkʌmbəsəm/ | adj | cồng kềnh, bất tiện, khó mang theo hoặc sử dụng |
2. Do people take more pictures now compared to the past?
Frankly speaking, with the advent of modern technologies, shooting a photo has never been so easy. Most of us have a strong inclination to document our lives through photos, and all it takes is a click of our fingerprint. I think it can be extremely challenging for me to name something that is harder than taking a picture in this day and age.
| with the advent of something | /wɪð ði ˈædvent əv ˈsʌmθɪŋ/ | phrase | với sự xuất hiện, ra đời của một thứ gì đó |
| have a strong inclination to do something | /hæv ə strɒŋ ˌɪnklɪˈneɪʃən tə duː ˈsʌmθɪŋ/ | phrase | có xu hướng, thiên hướng mạnh mẽ muốn làm điều gì |
| in this day and age | /ɪn ðɪs deɪ ən eɪdʒ/ | idiom | trong thời đại ngày nay, trong xã hội hiện đại |
3. Do you think being a professional photographer is a good job?
If I said that a professional photographer is not a good occupation, I would be a liar. Whether a job is good or bad, it is a subjective matter. In my opinion, every occupation is of pivotal importance, and a photographer is obviously one of them. If they have a conducive skillset and knowledge, they can make a lucrative income and earn themselves a reputation, coupled with social acceptance.
| a subjective matter | /ə səbˈdʒektɪv ˈmætə(r)/ | nphr | vấn đề mang tính chủ quan, phụ thuộc vào quan điểm mỗi người |
| of pivotal importance | /əv ˈpɪvətəl ɪmˈpɔːtəns/ | phrase | có vai trò/tầm quan trọng then chốt |
| lucrative income | /ˈluːkrətɪv ˈɪnkʌm/ | nphr | nguồn thu nhập cao, hấp dẫn về mặt tài chính |
4. Is it easier to take pictures now than in the past?
As I was saying, our smartphones can automatically adjust the frame, effect. I’m not confident to say that I have a knack for taking photographs but the quality of pictures these days in comparison with the past is just night and day. Even a person like me can take such a mesmerizing picture every now and then because of my tech-savvy smartphone.
| have a knack for something | /hæv ə næk fɔː(r) ˈsʌmθɪŋ/ | phrase | có năng khiếu, có sở trường tự nhiên về việc gì |
| night and day | /naɪt ən deɪ/ | idiom | khác biệt một trời một vực, hoàn toàn khác nhau |
