Cấu trúc viết bài chung
Chúng ta có 4 đoạn văn theo bố cục chung. Chúng ta cùng phân tích nhé.
INTRODUCTION
The introduction should be written in two sentences in a few minutes.
1st sentence: background sentence: introduce the topic by paraphrasing the question
2nd sentence: thesis statement: briefly answer both questions
Ví dụ: Ta có đề: In some countries, the number of people choosing to live by themselves is increasing rapidly in recent years. Why is this the case? Is this a positive or negative development?
Recent years have witnessed a rapid rise in the number of single-person households in some nations. The trend towards living alone might be attributable to a wide range of reasons, and from my perspective, this exerts a detrimental influence on individuals.
BODY PARAGRAPHS
Body 1: Answer the first question.
Body 2: Answer the second question
Hai phần đều có (Topic sentence) + (Supporting sentences)
Ví dụ:
Body 1:
(Topic sentence) On the one hand, there are several explanations for why more and more individuals have been choosing to lead a solitary life, but the most convincing one might be that they may not want their lifestyle influenced by others. (Supporting sentences) In modern society, people highly value personal autonomy and the freedom to shape their own daily routines without compromise. Living with family members or roommates often requires shared responsibilities and emotional adjustments, which can be a source of friction. By choosing to live independently, individuals can pursue their career goals, indulge in personal hobbies, and manage their personal space entirely on their own terms. Furthermore, the rising financial independence of young professionals, coupled with changing social norms that place less emphasis on early marriage, has made this self-reliant lifestyle both socially acceptable and economically viable.
Body 2:
(Topic sentence) On the other hand, I firmly hold the view that this life choice is individually disadvantageous. (Supporting sentences) The most immediate drawback is the heightened risk of loneliness and psychological distress. Human beings are inherently social creatures, and the prolonged absence of daily, face-to-face interactions can lead to feelings of isolation, potentially culminating in severe mental health issues such as depression. In addition to these emotional vulnerabilities, individuals living alone face substantial financial and practical burdens. Without the benefit of shared expenses, they must bear the full brunt of exorbitant housing rents, utility bills, and daily living costs. Moreover, in times of medical emergencies or sudden illness, single occupants lack immediate, on-site support from family or housemates, which could lead to critical, safety-endangering situations.
CONCLUSION
A summary sentence: In conclusion, you have to summarise the answer to both questions.
Ví dụ: In conclusion, the choice of living on one’s own is gaining widespread popularity for some reasons, and I believe this trend does more harm than good. While it offers unparalleled personal freedom, the psychological toll of isolation and the heavy financial burdens make it a largely negative development for the individuals involved.

It is increasingly common for young individuals to frequently transition between different jobs throughout their early careers. There are a few explanations for this phenomenon, and I firmly believe that the disadvantages of this trend far outweigh its advantages.
On the one hand, a few explanations can be offered for why young professionals change jobs regularly. The primary driving factor is that many young people are still actively seeking their true passions. In the early stages of their careers, many individuals remain unclear about their long-term career paths or specific areas of expertise. Consequently, they choose to sample different jobs to gain a better understanding of their own strengths and interests. For example, my sister changed several jobs before finally settling down as a therapist, a profession that was completely different from her academic major but allowed her to utilize her true strengths and passions. Another motivation is the pursuit of skill development. New jobs often offer fresh opportunities and a new environment for growth. As a result, by rotating roles, young employees can gain a more expansive professional network and acquire valuable experiences, ultimately enhancing their marketability in the competitive labor market.
On the other hand, I firmly believe that the disadvantages of this job-hopping tendency outweigh the advantages. First and foremost, frequently switching occupations can adversely impact one's professional reputation. Such frequent job changes can be perceived as a lack of loyalty by potential employers. Recruiters often express serious concerns regarding an individual’s commitment and reliability, making it significantly harder for these applicants to find desirable jobs in the future. For instance, a recent survey published in Business Weekly magazine revealed that the vast majority of headhunters routinely reject job hoppers. Furthermore, this trend reflects a severe lack of job stability. Many rewarding jobs require a long-term commitment to build meaningful professional relationships, master complex skills, and gain notable achievements. Working for a mere month as a call center agent, for example, will bring very little insights or practical experiences in the customer service field.
In conclusion, while the propensity of young people to change jobs stems from their search for passion and a desire for diverse skill development, I am of the opinion that this is a negative development. The detrimental effects on professional reputation and the lack of comprehensive stability and achievements ultimately overshadow the temporary benefits.
Đề 2:
It is predicted that cars in the future will be controlled by computers instead of human drivers?
What are the reasons for this development?
Do you think it has positive or negative impacts?
| Body 1 |
Reasons Safety: car accidents – human errors, AI technology - more precise, comply with the laws => less accidents. - Better user experience: people can rest, relax instead of driving => truly enjoy |
| Body 2 |
Effects: - Positive: all the aforementioned – but only the rich can afford the costs - Negative: professional taxi or truck drivers may lose their jobs |
Sample Answer
Computers are believed to replace humans as the driver of future automobiles. This development is primarily due to the demands of road safety and user experience. However, only the most affluent members of society can truly benefit from it, while professional human drivers will suffer from unemployment.
For once, the first major reason for this development is traffic safety. It is undeniable that human errors cause the majority of car accidents. Driverless cars, on the other hand, are not only equipped with sensors and Artificial Intelligence (AI) but also can be programmed to always comply with traffic laws. With the precision of advanced technology, collisions can be significantly reduced. Furthermore, autonomous vehicles liberate their users from the stressful task of driving. Instead of concentrating on navigating the vehicle through traffic, drivers and passengers can relax with some music, watch a movie, socialize, or even take a short nap. In this way, users of self-driving cars can truly enjoy their journeys.
Based on these reasons, it is obviously seen that AI-controlled vehicles can greatly improve road safety and user experience. However, the purchase prices as well as maintenance costs of these vehicles would be undoubtedly prohibitive for most ordinary people. Therefore, only a handful of the most opulent members of society would be able to afford these luxuries. Another undesired outcome this change might cause is the increased unemployment rates resulting from the redundancy of professional drivers. A number of taxi or truck drivers will have no choice but to look for other occupations as their jobs are taken by new competitors which they stand no chance against.
In conclusion, road safety and user experience are the major causes for the development of autonomous cars. These benefits can only be enjoyed by the wealthy classes while some drivers might lose their job on the other hand.
