Accommodation - Nơi ăn chốn ở là chủ đề thường gặp trong IELTS Listening. Các bài nghe sẽ thường xoay quanh các địa chỉ, khu vực và thường sẽ có nhiều bẫy, đặc biệt như bẫy khi đánh vần H, 8...Vì thế các bạn cùng luyện nghe nhiều hơn để ôn luyện chủ đề này, dễ dàng làm quen nha.

Chủ đề này gặp nhiều trong Part 1 với nội dung:

- hỏi thuê nhà/đặt phòng/đăng ký chỗ ở (rental enquiry, booking).

- gọi điện cho landlord/agent hỏi căn hộ

- hỏi giá thuê, tiền cọc, hóa đơn, ngày dọn vào

- đăng ký student accommodation (ký túc xá/nhà thuê)

Dạng câu hỏi hay gặp là

- Form completion / Note completion điền: address, postcode, rent, deposit, availability date, facilities

- Table completion: so sánh các lựa chọn phòng/căn hộ: giá, diện tích, bill included…

- Short answer: “How much is the deposit?”, “When can you move in?”

Bẫy hay gặp:

- numbers & dates (deposit, rent per week/month, move-in date)

- spelling (địa chỉ, street names)

- paraphrase: “bills included” = utilities are covered / included in the rent.

Part 2 cũng hay có chủ đề này, khi một người nói về 

- khu ở sinh viên, dịch vụ của ký túc xá

- hướng dẫn tiện ích: laundry, reception, security, car park

- giới thiệu khu dân cư, “living in this area”

Dạng câu hỏi hay gặp'

- Map/Plan labeling: reception, laundry room, common room, car park…

- Multiple choice hoặc Note/Table completion: quiet hours, security, facilities, opening hours

Part 3 thì ít hơn, thỉnh thoảng có cuộc thảo luận giữa sinh viên/tutor: bàn về chọn chỗ ở, chi phí, commute, ưu/nhược điểm khu vực hoặc đề tài liên quan nhà ở (housing, living conditions)

Dạng câu hỏi thường là Multiple choice, Matching hoặc Summary/Note completion.

Part 4 thì rất ít có chủ đề Accommodation.
